Data protection information in accordance with Art. 13 and 26 GDPR

This website is operated jointly by the Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF), Johannesgasse 5, 1010 Vienna, and the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB), Otto‑Wagner‑Platz 3, 1090 Vienna. Pursuant to Art. 26 GDPR, the BMF and the OeNB are joint controllers for the processing of personal data.

1.      Self-check quizzes

The website provides quizzes for self-checks allowing website users to voluntarily self-assess their financial knowledge. It is not possible for the BMF or the OeNB to identify website users, but for technical reasons a cookie with an arbitrary identification number must be set in order to be able to attribute successive answers to the respective users. No other identification data on website users is collected for this purpose. Personal data will not be passed on to third parties other than the processors named below, or used for other purposes on part of the BMF or the OeNB. The legal basis for this processing is the legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) in the provision of these quizzes for voluntary self-assessment. Once a self-check quiz has been completed, the data collected is immediately anonymized by deleting the cookie.

You can object to this processing of your pseudonymous data by closing your browser or manually deleting the session cookie in your browser.

2.      Integration of social media content

The website includes content from social media platforms that you can access. Personal data is not transmitted to these services as soon as you access the Finanznavi website as such, but only once you explicitly request the display of such external content and actively give your consent. On the basis of your consent, data is subsequently transmitted to the respective services (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR):

You have the right to withdraw your consent to any consent-based processing of your personal data at any time. 3.      Website analytics policy

We analyze the use of this website on the basis of the server log data generated by the web server on an anonymous basis in order to constantly improve its functionality and adapt its content to the interests and needs of the website users. The server log data is immediately anonymized for the analysis. The legal basis is the legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) in designing website content that is of interest and benefit to our target audience.

You have the right to object to this anonymous usage analysis (Art. 21 GDPR). To do this, please set the “do-not-track” function in your browser.

4.      Data recipients

The website is hosted by Bundesrechenzentrum GmbH, Hintere Zollamtsstraße 4, 1030 Vienna (BRZ), the anonymous analysis of website use by etracker GmbH, Erste Brunnenstraße 1, 20459 Hamburg, and the presentation of Google Charts diagrams by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. All processors have been contractually bound in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.

5.      Information on the responsibilities of the joint controllers (Art. 26 GDPR)

The BMF and the OeNB jointly operate this website. Both provide content and have defined the purposes and means of processing personal data on the website in close cooperation.

The point of contact for data subjects is the BMF or the BMF’s Data Protection Officer. The BMF ensures the provision of data protection information and that the rights of data subjects are upheld in accordance with Chapter III GDPR. Responsibility for compliance with the principles and lawfulness of any processing of personal data (Art. 5 to 10 GDPR) lies with the party that initiates this processing.

6.      Your rights as a data subject

You have the right to obtain confirmation as to whether or not your personal data, and which of your personal data, are being processed (Article 15 GDPR). You have the right to obtain the rectification of inaccurate personal data or to have incomplete personal data completed (Article 16 GDPR) as long as the rectification and/or completion of the data are necessary for the purpose of the processing operation. You have the right to obtain the erasure of your personal data if they were processed unlawfully (Article 17 GDPR). Under certain conditions, you have the right to obtain restriction of the processing of your data (Article 18 GDPR). Should you consider your right to data protection infringed by any processing of your personal data, you may lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (DSB) or take legal action before the competent civil court.
