Consumer price index (CPI)

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) is the most important price index in Austria. It is regularly calculated by Statistics Austria, an independent, non-profit federal agency in charge of official federal statistics. It is calculated based on a fixed basket of goods and services consumed by an average household. See also Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) .
