Best in class is an investment approach used to identify companies that are leaders in environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards. It is used, for example, when selecting securities for sustainable funds. The idea is to invest in companies that are better than others in the same sector. There are no minimum standards that the selected companies have to meet.
