Nominal interest rate
The nominal interest rate is the contractual interest rate for a financing such as a loan, or for an investment. This rate does not take into account other factors such as fees or inflation. By contrast, the effective interest rate takes other factors into account and should therefore be used as the basis for decision-making and comparisons. For nominal interest rate on loans, see also lending rate . For nominal interest rate on savings, see also deposit rate .
