Short-time work
Short-time work is a government-funded scheme that provides financial relief to companies by reducing labor costs. This enables them to retain their staff even if there is not enough work at a particular moment in time. In short-time work, employees reduce their working hours but still receive most of their previous salary or wage because the government pays a large part of salaries or wages. This helps prevent unemployment in times of crisis and avoid unnecessary job transitions.
